Not Quite Right...

So I got a remote control car a while back and it was a sweet car.  Well actually, it was a truck.  A big black pickup truck with really good suspension for a remote control vehicle.

Anyways, after about a month, it the controler broke.  Now the controller was a brute.  It was the size of my face and as thick as my hands, one on top of the other.  The antenna extended to the length of my arm.  It was a pretty thick too.

But that was what broke.  The antenna snapped off right at the base and after that it never worked right.  I still have it but I can't use it anymore.  It was fun while it laste but alas, good things must come to an end.  Dumb controller!

Film Review

Bon Cop Bad Cop is a film that very well illustrates the relationship between Quebec and the rest of Canada.  It is one of those movies that is so funny in some parts, but also super serious in other parts.  It is very effective for this film.  Patrick Hourd plays the Quebecois cop very well, as well as playing the father role.  He was exactly what the director was looking for, I think.  Colm Feore also plays the cop from Ontario well.  He is practically the same character as Hourd, but with a twist.  For one, he is a lot more polite.  Both these characters actions are justified throughout the film.  Bouchard(Hourd) plays the concerned father and ruthless cop exceedingly well.  Ward(Feore) plays the good cop and helpful friend well too.  Some of the scenes are extremely well done and most in a very creative way.  I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes cop movies and a lot of action.

New Hambug

So we got a choice on how to write about a local place that we are familiar with.  So i am going to soothe your eyes and minds with a haiku about the New Hamburg water wheel.

Water wheel stands tall
Right beside the muddy Nith
Sight for all to see

Okay.  So I am definitely not a poet.  That was probably the worst haiku in the world.  I should probably just delete it and do something else, but since I am not very good at writing stories either, I will just post this.  It might be terrible but I'm hoping it is one of those "It's so bad it's good" things.

How To Ruin Your Own Career(and Eventually Your Life)

You are living a good life.  All the wonders of the world are at your disposal.  All you have to do is press some buttons and it's yours.  Well, I am going to tell you how to ruin your career.  Go from cloud 9 to the underworld in no time.  This article will tell you everything you need to know in order to change your life for the worse.

- Screw up!  Whether you are a CEO or a truck driver, the first thing you need to do is screw up.  This proves you are human, and that you make mistakes.  Do this often enough and your work colleagues will begin to doubt your abilities, thus beginning a downward spiral in your life.

- File for devorce!  Even if you still love your wife, start making it seem like you don't.  Your wife is usually your biggest supporter and the one who keeps you under surveillance. With her out of the way, you're free to do anything you want.  If you have children, you might get lucky and the wife will take them with her.

- Do something bad!!!  Start, or join, a scandal of some sort.  Whether you pulled a Tiger Woods, or just plotted to rob your investors, this is a must!  This will detroy every chance you have with your company, and every other company in your field.  This will force you to try and re-educate yourself into another field.  I recommend that you start training for a marathon though.  If you had an affair (or several) then you had better be able to run from your wife.

- Become a raging alcoholic!  This a very important step, though it may not seem like it.  In order to have a complete life makeover, it is vital that you do this (getting into drugs is an acceptable substitute).  You will learn to live off your addiction and it will own you.  Soon you will be selling your Mercedes Benz, your imported furniture, even your house, just to feed this addiction.  This will result in you living on the streets.

There you go.  You now know everything you need to do in order to ruin your life and career.  Remember that every step listed above is absolutely vital if  you want to succeed in doing this.  Don't try to make it look like you are innocent.  Own up to everything with confidence.  This way, the people will know without a doubt that it was you who did all this.

Also, don't make the mistake of thinking, "I have done enough".  There is no excuse for under achievement!  Shoot for the stars!  You should always do more than you deem necessary.  This way, you can always be proud of what you have done.

Follow these steps and pieces of advice and you will be ruined!! Good luck to all who attempt this.  May your life be against you!

Greek Paradise, Lost

I read a travel story written by Dan Saltztein called Greek Paradise, Lost.  It was a very well written story and it proved to be quite entertaining.  I won't spoil anything but it was quite a good read, for a travel story.  Here is where it is: http://www.worldhum.com/features/travel-stories/greek-paradise-lost-20110915/

Valentine's Day...

Valentine's Day is a nice day for some.  But I feel as though it is over-advertised.  I mean, Valentine's Day is supposed to be day where you show the people closest to you that you love them and that they are important.  I don't understand why there needs to be a day set aside for that.  I feel that you should be expressing those feelings to them every day, not just February 14.  Also, for those people that are single and not in a significant relationship, I feel as though it is almost a reminder that they don't have a boyfriend/girlfriend.  But I am biased on that considering I fall under that category.

As for Valentine's Day being a really good marketing ploy, that may be.  I mean, Hallmark probably has more business leading up to and during Valentine's Day than they do at Christmas time.  They are like a one-stop Valentine's store.  They get chocolate to sell along with the cards.  They do very well around Valentine's.  Also, nowadays Valentine's Week is being advertised.  I remember when it was Valentine's day and then, once it was over, there really wasn't any mention of it again for a while.  Now it is practically all you hear about.

Those are my thoughts on Valentine's Day/Week?Whatever they come up with next.

Best Game EVER!!!!!!!!!

My favorite game for the iPhone/iPod/iPad is a game called Jetpack Joyride.  It is an extremely addicting game.

The whole point of the game is the character wants to go for a joyride on a jetpack.  He does this by blowing a hole in the wall of a science facility and stealing a jetpack.  Then you have to control this character, weaving in between deadly lasers and past bombs.  You do this while trying to complete missions, which can level you up.  It is really fun and I strongly recommend it to anyone who has one of the three devices and has a love for games.
